Ramen Box Contents

This ramen box features Tonkotsu Ramen from "Mohican Ramen" in Fukuoka Prefecture and Miso Ramen from "Yoshiyama Shoten" in Hokkaido.

MOHIKAN Tonkotsu Ramen

Mohican Ramen is a popular ramen shop located in Kurume City, Fukuoka Prefecture. Kurume is known as one of the most competitive ramen districts in Fukuoka, making it a tough area for ramen shops to thrive.

The hallmark of Kurume ramen is its light yet surprisingly rich and umami-packed broth. By adding the special seasoning sauce, which enhances the flavor of the tonkotsu soup, the taste becomes even more refined. The noodles are also a signature of Kurume ramen—straight, thin, and firm, offering a satisfying bite with each mouthful.

Additionally, the shop is highly regarded by locals, not only for its exceptional ramen but also for the warm and courteous service provided by the staff. This has earned them a loyal customer base, often leading to long lines of eager diners.

YOSHIYAMASHOTEN Miso Ramen

The second ramen selection comes from Yoshiyama Shoten, a highly popular shop in Sapporo, Hokkaido. Given the cold climate of Hokkaido, miso ramen is a local favorite for warming up the body, and the competition among miso ramen shops is fierce. Within this competitive scene, Yoshiyama Shoten stands out by offering an "evolved" miso ramen that builds on traditional flavors while introducing innovative elements.

While Sapporo is home to many unique miso ramen varieties, Yoshiyama Shoten’s version is particularly renowned for its rich and creamy broth, made by blending tonkotsu (pork bone) soup with miso and ground sesame. At the shop, vegetables are simmered together with the soup before being served in the bowl, allowing their natural umami to infuse the broth.

Paired with the medium-thick, wavy noodles, which perfectly complement the thick and flavorful soup, this miso ramen offers a deeply satisfying experience. The shop has even been visited by former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, adding to its reputation as one of Sapporo’s must-try ramen destinations.

Both of these ramen shops are led by passionate owners who are deeply committed to their craft. Their unwavering dedication to ramen is truly remarkable, and it’s evident in every bowl they serve.

Please enjoy these masterfully crafted ramen dishes in the comfort of your own home, each carrying the heartfelt vision of its creator.
